We go to Battle, on the Offense!

We have gathered more than enough strength to aid legislators in the pro-gun stong hold areas and in several marginal areas of the state as well. Although important, necessary, and time consuming in itself, we see that as an absolute minimal accomplishment. It is time to move on, building stronger, vigorous, and unrelenting against those who threaten our rights, for any reason. We have no choice but to get down to it, politically.

The PGOA has for over four years worked with little to get changes made in Penns laws. That phase, I am happy to say is closing, hopefully forever. As we have spoken with dozens of groups throughout PA, some common points continue to be noticed. Many very good leaders have burnt themselves to a "fraz" doing all they could, with everything they had, for as long as they could, to defend and support ot rights. Many very active groups have fallen apart due to frustration, because serious legislative goasl were not accomplished. At hundreds of gatherings throughout the state, dozens discuss what it will take to get the millions of gun owners off their couches, out to vote, into supporting a movement, and on their feet when it's time to stand up and be counted as uncompromising free individual Pennsylvanians.

With recent growth in supporters, and a renewed vigor to get the ball rolling, we have arranged to sponsor the "2000 Gun Rights Summit Meeting". The meeting is open to all that want to take an active part in the promotion of the pro-(gun)-rights movement with us. Anyone wishing to attend need only contact me at: 814-827-1372, or Stan Switzer at 814-358-2853. Attendants need not be members but must be registered to attend. We will be meeting in the Milesburg area on Sunday, August 13 from 10AM to 4PM. Seating is limited but free. We have invited many large and technically advanced groups to join with us on a "full court press" against the complete anti-gun rights crowd. Their response has been very favorable. It is our plan to unite the most knowledfeable, motivated and creative pro-(gun)-rights leaders in Pennsylvania.

We intend to offer the PGOA as an existing "tent" for all to work under, in a common, united, and coordinated effort. Together we have the components to build; the brains, the backbone, and heart of the strongest pro-(gun)-rights movement in the world. With that intact, and improved communications in place, our future will lay in the hands of the "People", right where it was always meant to be. When we have educated "People" to the truth of the situations, established the leadership to keep them from being mislead by lies, and have re-established faith in a movement of the People, for the People, and by the People, the anti-gun-rights crowd can be put on the page of a history book where they belong.

To give up any right, for someone's "modern idea of politically correctness", is an un-American as placing government officials above the law. This argument shouldn't even exist in Pennsylvania, and everyone should be willing and ready to stand up and sound off loud and strong every time it is proposed. (The reality is that; no one, and no government, has the authority to impair our rights that are protected, "and shall forever remain inviolate", by the Pennsylvania Constitution." Also, (FYI) traditionally government officials are t be held to a higher degree of accountability than the common Citezen, BY BOTH THE GOVERNMENT AND THE CITIZENS.

So as we go forth growing and preparing to take the battle to those that would undermine both our Constitutions and our freedom, every member must search for a way to be more supportive our our efforts. Our allies are many but scattered and unorganized. Our foes are well entrenched, have financial advantages over us, and will never give an inch willingly. We expect this to be a long engagement, with all of our freedons hanging in the balance.

It cannot be over stressed, this is a war,a war of words that we must win. Compromise is not an option. A loss of ANY RIGHT would undoubtedly, (and with great merit), lead to a serious armed insurgence. It is our hope to be a tool to avoid that happening, by helping to beat the anti-American efforts here in Pennsylvania. This war of words is the responsibility of all citezens, not just those that are in the front line of the fight today or tomorrow. Each ofus must recognize this as fact not hype. Throughout our history, millions of Pennsylvanians have sacrificed their comfort, their wealth, and their lives to keep their homeland free. It is better we all step to the beat of their ancient drums and cast the culprits from our government now, than to allow them to force us to choose between peace or freedom on our own state.

Respectfully, Roy Pittman.
